Let's sing about Jesus

Hello, friends! Today we review When He Comes Again and sing a whole bunch of songs that have to do with Jesus. In the More Fun video we use one more scrap piece of paper to make a manger (origami or paper folding). I also teach two more verses of The Nativity Song.

More Fun

I just couldn't stop until I taught a Christmas song. Putting it with my regular singing time would have been too much. If your child(ren) are ready for more singing time and a little paper folding fun, this video is for them. They will need a piece of paper (scrap, construction, lined, etc.) and a pen or pencil or crayons. I also encourage them to use some of the felt friends from the advent calendar to teach The Nativity Song. Watch it anytime.

I Thank Thee, Dear Father

I want to teach one more thankful song, "I Thank Thee, Dear Father." We also review "For Health and Strength" with the piano and play it a little faster than last week. I also teach the kids about a little flap on your ear called the tragus (I had to look that up).

More things I'm thankful for, and "What is a Metronome?"

I am so thankful for a Prophet that can pray with us as a world. Today we're going to sing about more things that we're thankful for: health, food, a prophet, and prayer. Also, I teach a left hand accompaniment for the kids to play on the piano while they sing "For Health and Strength" that we learned last week. It should be pretty easy for the older kids. Little kids may want to do this with two hands, but I didn't explain that in the video. I also explain a few ways that a metronome can help us make music. I hope you have a lovely, though maybe noisy, Thanksgiving.

Also, I would like to thank and credit Beth Whittaker for most of the pictures I've used today and in a lot of my videos. You can find them on https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/.

Thankful

Today I try to sing about things I'm thankful for. I invited Skinny and Tesler to sing with me. We also try to sing two part songs, harmony and a round.

I'm thankful for nature (the little stream and the green field), for sunshine and snow, for a Heavenly Father who hears my prayers, for the priesthood in my home, and food on the table.

Books in the Book of Mormon

Today I talk about the Book of Mormon, sing some of the story songs (there's too many for one video), and teach The Books in the Book of Mormon.

Here is a copy of "I'm thankful for our bishopric because..." heart, in case you need another one. Remember to draw a picture or write some words telling them why you are thankful for them. Look for a box on the porch of one of the primary leaders to turn it in and we will deliver them to the bishopric. Thank you!
