Hello, friends! Today we review When He Comes Again and sing a whole bunch of songs that have to do with Jesus. In the More Fun video we use one more scrap piece of paper to make a manger (origami or paper folding). I also teach two more verses of The Nativity Song.

More Fun

I just couldn't stop until I taught a Christmas song. Putting it with my regular singing time would have been too much. If your child(ren) are ready for more singing time and a little paper folding fun, this video is for them. They will need a piece of paper (scrap, construction, lined, etc.) and a pen or pencil or crayons. I also encourage them to use some of the felt friends from the advent calendar to teach The Nativity Song. Watch it anytime.

I Thank Thee, Dear Father

I want to teach one more thankful song, "I Thank Thee, Dear Father." We also review "For Health and Strength" with the piano and play it a little faster than last week. I also teach the kids about a little flap on your ear called the tragus (I had to look that up).

More things I'm thankful for, and "What is a Metronome?"

I am so thankful for a Prophet that can pray with us as a world. Today we're going to sing about more things that we're thankful for: health, food, a prophet, and prayer. Also, I teach a left hand accompaniment for the kids to play on the piano while they sing "For Health and Strength" that we learned last week. It should be pretty easy for the older kids. Little kids may want to do this with two hands, but I didn't explain that in the video. I also explain a few ways that a metronome can help us make music. I hope you have a lovely, though maybe noisy, Thanksgiving.

Also, I would like to thank and credit Beth Whittaker for most of the pictures I've used today and in a lot of my videos. You can find them on https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/.

Thankful

Today I try to sing about things I'm thankful for. I invited Skinny and Tesler to sing with me. We also try to sing two part songs, harmony and a round.

I'm thankful for nature (the little stream and the green field), for sunshine and snow, for a Heavenly Father who hears my prayers, for the priesthood in my home, and food on the table.

Books in the Book of Mormon

Today I talk about the Book of Mormon, sing some of the story songs (there's too many for one video), and teach The Books in the Book of Mormon.

Here is a copy of "I'm thankful for our bishopric because..." heart, in case you need another one. Remember to draw a picture or write some words telling them why you are thankful for them. Look for a box on the porch of one of the primary leaders to turn it in and we will deliver them to the bishopric. Thank you!

Samuel the Lamanite

Hello, everyone. Today I teach Samuel the Lamanite's verse of Book of Mormon Stories, attempt to teach your kids to play the piano (embrace the beautiful noise), and then teach Samuel Tells of the Baby Jesus. I don't know how I fit it all into 15 minutes.

Here's a tip for the piano. Have a family rule that only fingers are allowed to play the piano. If you don't have a piano or toy or piano app, you can place five stuffed animals or cars, or anything, in a row and get family members to make the different pitches as if the toys are the piano keys. If you have enough family members, you can line up, each picking a note to sing and someone can tap your heads as if playing the piano. Kind of like The Sound of Music.

I would love to know how this works.

Beautiful Savior

Hello, Friends. Today I wanted to teach you how to sing Beautiful Savior. It's a very beautiful song. I teach all three verses kind of quickly, so I made a coloring page to go with it. You can color it any way you like or even make it in to a puzzle like I did. I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do.

Thank you children and parents for all your hard work getting pictures and videos in to us for the primary program. We'll have that ready real soon.

Behold Your Little Ones vs 2 and program songs

The blog is fixed. There are now links to all the song accompaniments or a video of me singing with my ukulele.

(Also, I am like a Star has been restored to the singing time. I just can't end without it, haha!!)

This is my 20th video. I can't believe it.

Today's video(s) are a little different. You have choices.

The primary presidency is collecting all of the songs you want to sing for us, all the testimonies you want to bear for us, all the pictures you want to draw for us, and all the things you learned this year. Taking a video might feel kind of tricky, but please try. We want to hear all of your voices and testimonies in the video we're going to compile. We can't have a primary program this year, but maybe we can still see each other and feel the Spirit in a video.

So the choices this week are to: pick a song to sing and record yourselves (send it to jenkinssings@gmail.com (or put it on a drive in the cloud and send me a link)),

And/or learn the 2nd verse of Behold Your Little Ones,

And/or learn the harmony part to Behold Your Little Ones.

You can sing a capella (without background music) or you can sing to the mp3 files in these links. Or, mom, dad or older sibling can play an instrument. I'm also not opposed to you singing a different song, especially if it's your favorite.

My Heavenly Father Loves Me
The Iron Rod
Nephi's Courage (sing as many verses as you want)
When I am Baptized
Gethsemane (you'll have to sing with me)

We'll Bring the World His Truth
I Love to See the Temple
Behold Your Little Ones

I will walk with Jesus

or

Sing as many as you would like, just send them separately so they're small. Don't worry about editing the beginning or end. I can do that when I compile them. Don't worry about making too many mistakes. It always takes me a few tries to get a decent take, but don't over extend yourself. We'll just be happy to hear you. Warning- this may take two devices, sorry. One to play the music and one to record, if you decide to do it that way. Don't worry about sending it in a week or so later than Sept 15. Let's just blame everything on the wind and school. 😋

Helaman 3:35 How to build a firm foundation

Hello. Some fuzzy friends join me again today: Doug the dog and Slinky the sloth. We sing some fun songs and songs that can help us build a firm foundation on the teaching of Jesus Christ.

(I think I finally figured out how to make the picture the link)
