I can't believe it's been a whole year and a week since I first started making virtual singing time videos. This may be my last video because we'll be starting actual primary again. Feel free to watch any of the old videos if you can't come back to church yet.

Today, we will be singing songs that help moms, reviewing Mother Dear and learning verse 4 of The Family is of God. We also have a special guest: Br. Hoffman of the bishopric will talk us about mom and how special they are.

 Hello, friends. There were so many songs we could have sung for the Come Follow Me lesson today, but I forced myself just to pick a few. Feel free to sing other songs on your own as you think of them. Today I am teaching the second verse of I will walk with Jesus, the new primary song that was featured on a Face to Face with Elder Gong last year. I taught it last year, but then I forgot to practice it with you, so I will quickly reteach it this week and next week. I hope you like it and learn it (Sister Ence really likes it). At the end of this blog are some printable booklets to help you practice the song. I also quickly go over another paragraph of The Living Christ and play the banjo song arranged by Sister Gadd from our stake (I'm not really teaching that, just exposing the kids to it). Lastly, Tesler and Skinny help us practice The 10th Article of Faith song.

The Armor of God

 Hello, friends! Today, Skinny helps me teach you about putting on the armor of God and the second verse of Scripture Power. We sing lots of songs that can help us learn about the different parts of the armor. Warning - I do apply my own theory about the armor and what it symbolizes. Please share with your children what you think the armor means to you. 

  I included a coloring/cutting activity. I wanted Skinny to help me with pictures for Scripture Power and it took on a life of it's own. I really think I had help from above to create this Paper Warrior (Paper Doll). She comes in color or as a coloring page. I hope the kids have a fun time with this. Just a few tips- you may need to tape the stand to the back of the warrior, I used tape to attach the sword and shield, and keep the shoes together joined at the ankle. Tape fixes every mistake.

 Hello, friends! We have a lots of guests and helpers today. First, I touch on the Come Follow Me lesson about John the Baptist giving Joseph Smith, Jr. and Oliver Cowdery the Aaronic Priesthood. Then I teach The Priesthood is Restored (you'll need a sock today if you want to conduct with an elephant trunk). Then Skinny and Tesler help us sing The First Article of Faith again. I talk about the second paragraph of The Living Christ and show the accompanying banjo song. And finally, Br. Keaton is our teacher spotlight this week.

Joseph Smith's First Prayer and The First Article of Faith

 Hello, Friends. Today I'm going to teach the second verse of Joseph Smith's First Prayer and as our Special Guests, Skinny and Tesler are going to learn The First Article of Faith with you.

For this verse of Joseph Smith's First Prayer, I'm going to use face expressions and drawings to help teach the meaning of the words. I do draw a few versions of the faces and I hope your child feels like they can draw it any way they want. But I did want to warn the perfectionists out there that if they are trying to copy exactly what I do, you might want to you a pencil with an eraser. I make mistakes and change my mind...I can do that with a dry erase board. I hope it all goes well.

 Hello everyone! Today's video has a lot of variety. I start with our new opening song, sing some fun songs, sing a song for the Come Follow Me lesson, teach the song of the month, introduce The Living Christ and a song that puts it to music and finally a cutting activity to introduce our new closing song.

For the rest of January, we are going to learn Joseph Smith's First Prayer, Hymn 26. We're going to start backwards, of course. I'll teach verse 4 then 3. Then in the next two weeks, I'll teach 2 and 1. Each verse is important to the song and the story of when Joseph went into a grove of trees to find out how he could repent of his sins and which church to join.

 The Living Christ was written by the prophet and apostles in 2000 and set to music by Cassie Gadd in our stake.

 Happy New Year! We are going to slowly make some changes this year. We'll have new opening and closing songs. We will learn "I will follow God's plan" to replace "The Church of Jesus Christ" today. This year we will have a special guests. Today's special guest is Br. Tingey from the bishopric. We will have a new list of songs to learn, just in case we can have a Primary Program next October. And I'm excited to support Come Follow Me lessons for studying the Doctrine and Covenants. I also hope to teach a few or all of the Article of Faith songs and maybe introduce the kids to The Living Christ. It's going to be a great year.
